Started very early this morning. Spoke with Gasper concerning the children. All is well at this time. Gasper will be leaving on January 5th to go and make sure all things are ready so the children can start school. This will include clothing, materials, and transportation. It is rainy season so we will leave our van in Talawanda for transport of children to the school, although it is not well suited for the muddy, difficult road.
We will have to add a helper for Naomi. She is overwhelmed by 13 children, (including hers) trying to cook, clean, wash clothes, get baths, brush teeth ect. Especially since we have so many who are to small to get it done on their own. We will interview for this position. Also, at some point when Gasper leaves and the van is there, we will need a driver with a valid license. The road is in the bush, very remote, and there are no authorities there, but we still believe the driver must be certified if they will drive children. We will ask our friend Mr. Kimaro from Arusha if he can go there for a temporary time and be our driver. We cannot pay him but we may be able to furnish a gift and some accomodations while he is there. We want him to stay until I come and we can send Peter to driving school.
Communication has been difficult. Skype and What's App connections have been broken messages. Today we just used the phone but ran out of fund for the line twice. Only 50 cents but it is still the difficulty of adding fund and making another connection.
I am working on the 2022 budget. I am preparing a presentation I will present on Jan. 24th. Also, I am comunicating with some donors who want to sponsor children and finishing the 2021 tax papers. Additionally, I will go to the bank and mail some letters on behalf of Safari Project.
