A very interesting start to 2022. A major storm event came to our area and did damage to buildings across the road at the neighbors. (Boha Boha Village, Talawanda Africa) We suffered a large crack in our house. We are thankful no one was hurt. Now we have lost the little female dog to a python. We knew of a big snake on the land. We had seen his track. One of the bushmen said they saw it and it was very large. I thought by the way it was described, it was a cobra. Cobras 9 and 10 feet have on two occasions been killed on the land. But this was not a cobra but a python. The place where the dog was killed was on the trail we used to gather firewood. We also were laying out plans to build our orphanage on that trail. The snake escaped and was not killed. The local people say because the snake was successful, he will return. This is a major concern as our children are small. Also, we have hogs and chickens that we will depend on soon. The little dog was used to scare monkeys out of the corn. It is the second dog that has been taken. We did not know what happened to the first dog. We thought maybe it was a hyenas but now we believe it was the snake. We will have to track it down and kill it.

Also, today we took a child to the clinic for a cyst. It had to be lanced. I understand all is o.k. and the child is not complaining of anything.
