June 3, 2022

Lots of work has gone into the last few months. I spent March 2022 at the Safari Project Land in Tanzania. I was able to meet our children for the first time and I enjoyed the blessing of seeing them. I was able to shake their hands and see them face to face. They are very kind towards one another and I did not observe any issues. We had the occasional disageement over what game was going to be played or who had the soccer ball first, but nothing unusual. I was pleased with how hard they worked. Truely they are glad to be with us. They say....this is their home now. They remember where they were and they know where they are now. They know we love them and are working on their behalf. Because of this, they put a great amount of effort into our project. I constantly observed them gathering firewood, digging stumps, cooking, assisting our builders and feeding the animals. They worked with no complaints and no one was unwilling to pull their own weight. Every project I did was watched very carefully. Soon after understanding what I was doing, the children would take over the work, as much as they could. I worked on various projects, the largest being our ladies dorm. It is 16 X 46, made of bricks, with an indoor bathroom. All of our ladies and watch women are housed there. Additionally, we completed the 2nd house of chickens and our first rabbit shed. These projects were completed to improve our menu and ability to provide nutrition to the children. We completed our store house in order to store our supplies of rice and beans. Currently, we have 9 months provision of these items. Also, since the missionary house is now housing the boys, a new missionary house was built. It is 12 X 12, built in the style of a tiny house (which has become very popular in the U.S.). It has an upstairs loft and indoor shower and bathroom. It has open roof ends to allow for good air flow. It was very pleasant at night to sleep although when a huge storm came water will come inside. Its a trade off in a way. I opt for the cooler temperatures and deal with the occasional storm. When I return, I will add shutters that can be closed in the storms. We added 20 acres and last week completed the survey and paperwork in Dar Es Salaam. The mission had many parts and I will try to add them to this blog site over the next few days. We are thankful to all those who have prayed for us and helped us. The mission is going well and we are thankful for all our good progress.
